This project is a a point-and-click, text-based puzzle game which players will be the protagonist of the story. In an era that decades after human extincted , an archeaologiest of the new born species is assinged to a region to explore the cause. Eventually, through collecting and inspecting items that were left behind, players will manage to find the truth...

I draw my inspirations from urbex experiences I see, Social events, and post-humanism. A lot of the visual elements are from archeaologiests' percedures.

In this chapter, the player is placed in what used to be a human residential area. Now, with humanity extinct, you, an archaeologist of a new species, will explore the space.

Game Flow

Mechanics

Through point-and-click interactions, the player collects items from the site. As more items are gathered, additional key words become available.

The cursor changes icons when hovering over an inspectable spot. The player can then view information about the item and exit the inspection when finished.

After inspection, the item can be placed into the case. A key word will show up with it. Put the key word into the correct gap to create a report.

After sending the report to headquarters, the player can either proceed or redo the report.

Was it war?

In the first chapter, the player collects and inspects items pointing toward a conclusion that humanity may have gone extinct due to repeated wars throughout history. However, the final report reveals signs of later human activity, so the headquarters lets the player continue.

In this section, several clues indicate humanity’s failure to maintain sustainability and manage its resources. The conclusion is correct, yet nature seems to possess a far stronger self-healing ability than expected. The headquarters orders you to continue.

Life Cycle

Here, you discover a production line of test-tube infants. A note reveals that humans had already lost the ability to reproduce. They tried, and they failed. Over countless experiments, layers of chemical residue built up, settled, and slowly reacted with the faint traces of remaining life. From this long accumulation, something new finally emerged. A new species born from the remnants of both. This new form of life appears to be the origin of your own kind. And with that, humanity quietly stepped down from the stage of history. The headquarters requests that you bring the sample back.
